305 tpi - 350 carb

I am switching my 305 tpi to a 350 carb. if i pull the fuse for my fuel pump will the carb still bring fuel through the pump like it was an open line or do i have to replace the sending unit i have heard no and yes. I have a edlebrock carb but i dont have a return regulator does this matter?

The carb doesn't pull fuel from the fuel tank, the fuel pump does that. If you disable the in-tank electric pump, you will need to provide some type of pump somewhere. Typical is an engine-mounted mechanical pump.

If you disable the in-tank electric pump, you will have to remove it from the tank. There is a sticky in the top section of this forum about converting an in-tank electric pump pick-up into a "mechanical" pick-up. Personally, I'd prefer having an in-tank electric pump, as pumps push better than they suck.

Re: 305 tpi - 350 carb

if the stock pump is good I found it was easy to put in a return style regulator on to feed the carb and it works great. I used a mallory 4309 but there are a few different ones. be sure to use a return style or you will cook the pump.
