confused????

ok , so when i bought my 88 trans am , the guy i bought it from said it was efi, but it wasnt it was tbi , BUT , on my aircleaner lid it says "fuel injection " in red and black letters im confused , why would that be there ? i know my car is tbi , im just curious

heres your basic TBI or Throttle body injection


heres your basic TPI or Tuned port injection


TBI or TPI refer to the type intake or fuel delivery system used there both a type Electronic fuel injection or EFI

TBI is the specific EFI type.

"EFI" just means "electronic fuel injection". As opposed to "mechanical fuel injection".

EFI comes in many forms, one of which is TBI.
