Fuel pump to carb line

I am having to make a new pump to carb line for my 83 Z28 because somebody used JB weld or something to make the flare nut stay on the pump. I used solvents, penetrants, zip tying cloths soaked with lube and solvents soaking for many hours, nogo. I cut the line and put the pump in a vice and hit it with the impact just to prove that nut wouldn't get the best of me. Here is my real problem, I can not find somebody that maufactures a new one. I hit oreillys, autozone, napa, and some junk yards. All the stores carry only the newer what I would call double flare with an o-ring repair and extension kits. Junk yards don't have 3rd gens in one piece very often after they get them around here so it hasn't worked out that way either. Does anybody know a manufacturer that makes an OE bent line for a 305 qjet setup? I can make one but if you have bent your own line before you know how hard it can be and I have to get a flare kit (don't got one), nuts, and straight line of which nobody carries. I think because after 83 so many more models were TBI/TPI than carbed that there is no market for the part and why it has been so hard to find one. I am probably going to go to a braided line but I would rather have the solid line cuz the best way to run the line to the carb is behind the water pump and accesories and even with a braided line it can leak and catch fire. Solid line don't catch fire and it don't leak.

Re: Fuel pump to carb line

this should work, you will probably need to modify the carb end but i should get you up the front of the motor

Re: Fuel pump to carb line

Thank you for the response. I went to the junkyard and found one after an hour or so for a dollar. Yep, one whole dollar. What they need to do is expand the vehicle years that can fit cuz I did find it in a late model (79 or so) monte carlo and my camaro does have the correct engine in it. But finding that vehicle took an hour and I found several that had that line bent back in half for whatever reason. Thanks again for the help!
