can you rebuild your q-jet?... i have put a edelbroch 1405 on my 350 and it runs great,,but it's a 600cfm ..i also put on a edelbrock rpm intake and headers...i think 600-650 should be about right for your type of engine.

Re: carb advice

You're much better off getting the Qjet to work correctly.

Re: carb advice

keep the Q jet. go out and buy a used Qjet, then buy a rebuild kit. there are several sites that will walk you threw a rebuild of both cc and non cc carbs. take your time and learn to rebuild the carbs. after that there are other sites that will walk you threw modifing them to about 850 cfm for when you decide to put in that 383 stroker or BB. the Q jets are excellent carbs. I have racing buddies that turn upper single digets with them. once you do 1, even if you mess it up a little, you will be surprised how easy they are, if not a bit of a pain at first. just be VERY picky during the rebuilds at first.

That would be an indefensible downgrade.

Keep the q-jet.
