The sending unit is toast in my 83 Z28. It was originally CFI, but later converted to carb. When I put my engine in it I had good fuel flow so I never dropped the tank, but I have no clue what they did to the intank pump.
My question is, does anyone know WHERE I can find a new sending unit? I want a regular sending unit and pick up from a 82-86 carbed 305 model, but it seems that nobody can get it, no parts stores, classic industries, etc. I want new just because of how difficult our tanks are to drop, it's not something I want to do again.

Dropping the tank involves moving the exhaust out of the way and dropping the axle down far enough so the tank can be dropped down and out. The biggest issue is getting the filler neck to clear.
