CIA's, Airboxes, or Plenums for Carbs?

Anyone created any kid of CIA's (Cold Air Intake), Airboxes, or Plenums for their Carb setup?

I was looking at functional hood scoops, shakers, and the like from the older cars at a car show recently (GTO's, 2nd gen T/A's, etc.) - and I was thinking about how crappy my 14x3 open element aircleaner fits on the carb (touches distributor wires, really deep dropbase to clear linkage, and a stupid plastic riser, etc.).

I happened to catch a glimpse of a 1st gen Camaro with a custom built airbox that had two 3-inch CIA tubes splitting in the front, with cone filters of the ends of each, that ended where our washer fluid and rad overflow tanks would be on the 3rd gens.

Anyone have anything similar? Pics?
