Secondaries bogging out i need help!!

ok this is my first post on this site although ive been a member of fullthrottlev6 for a while but i sold that camaro and got a 85 trans am L69 package with the borg warner 3.70 posi and t5 with the electric feedback qudrajet. My issue is that the car was running fine minus the secondaries working on them, when ever id pucnh it the car would stumble and then bog out, keep in mind the car has practically no emission stuff on it, and then i put a egr valve on and reconected all the vacum lines, but the car still doesnt work and now it stalls out and runs like crap even with the primaries only, my question is would the egr valve being bad do this an how the hell do i get my secondaries working properly...i ve been messing with the thing for days now and still cant get them to work... any info at all would help and please dont tell me to look it up cause i have and i cant find anything on this site to help me either, trust me id rather look it up to get an answer now but i cant find anything...thanks

An EGR valve stuck open will cause all sorts of problems.

As for the secondaries, read the q-jet tech article that tells how to adjust them. I'd add that the choke pull-off needs to be operating correctly as well.

See the "welcome to the carburetor forum" sticky for a link to the tech article.

Re: Secondaries bogging out i need help!!

yeah i just replaed the EGR with a brand new one, so your saying the secondaries are adjustable, i assumed they were vacuumed controlled and that meant making sure the lines are clear.. anyways ill look into it, thank you
