I found a good deal on a GM factory aluminum intake for a carb, casting # 14057053. I am on the lookout for an intake for my 305 I'm building and was wondering if it would work for me. Here are the specs on the build:
Summit K-1103 cam/lifter kit
Stock 0416 heads with Edelbrock valve springs (for the extra cam lift)
Hedman Headers
3-inch exhaust
My carb is a Holley 650 CFM, either the 4105 or 4106 (got it from my neighbor), will that carb bolt right up to the stock intake?
If this won't work, then I'll go another route; just wanted to see if this intake would work before I get it. Thanks!
Thanks for the advice, I ended up finding one of these intakes for $25 at a local yard, which was a lot cheaper than I could find an Edelbrock for. Add the $15 I spent on an adaptor plate so I can put my Edelbrock carb on it (ditched the Holley), and I spent $40 for this intake, which was less than half of what I would have paid for the Edelbrock.
Dunno yet, I haven't got it running yet. I would imagine it would run pretty good, the intake is a dual plane and appears to be the factory version of the edelbrock performer intake p/n 2101. i cleaned it up today and installed it. hopefully not too much longer till it's running!
