Edelbrock 1406 Advice

My setup: Edelbrock performer 1406 on top of a stock manifold, 305ci, edelbrock newly rebuilt, new manifold gaskets, new fuel filter, new fuel pump.
So, when I hit the gas after idling my Edelbrock as per the factory manual, it will bog down to the point of stalling or popping back thru the carb. This only happens at WOT. If I richen up the idle mixture, or boost up the idle speed it will not bog down, but (shocker) run terribly rich. I'm thinking it needs to be jetted up. And please none of that "shoulda stayed with the q-jet", I'm not the one who put this thing on there. What do you all think?
And I know I said I don't want to hear any q-jet stuff, but on another subject, if I were to go back to a quadrajet, what am I looking for in there?

Re: Edelbrock 1406 Advice

Alright, I know this doesn't answer your question, but I bought a camaro 2 weeks ago with a 1406 Edelbrock and it wasn't fully hooked up. I hooked up the vacuum lines and closed up the hole where the EGR Valve was on the manifold. Now I'm a little aggrivated because I've gone through alot with this thing, it did the same there your's did and I still can't get it running right.

I'm about to pull it off and clean it and make sure it isn't clogged, considering he let it sit for over a year with it on there uncovered and unfinished, so hopefully after this it'll run.
