TPI to carb,Pro comp distributor

Doing a swap to carb,Question 1.anyone running a procomp distributor off e bay?if so are they junk or worth the $55.00?

2.On a 350 ci with 350 to 375 crank hp would a msd ignition be a waste?is a recurved stock hei good enough?motor will see 6000rpm's top.

Re: TPI to carb,Pro comp distributor

1. I have a ProComp as well and can attest that the actual billet housing is pretty nice. The electronics may be questionable, I have had some gremlins with mine. May be attributed to the dizzy itself or to other electronic problems with the car, that I cannot say for sure. For $55 its worth a chance

2. Stock HEI should be adequate although a MSD box is always a great upgrade, but not necessary.

Re: TPI to carb,Pro comp distributor

I have the Procomp HEI dizzy off ebay with the clear cap, in addition to looking very cool, especially at night, while running, I haven't had any sort of issues with it. It appears to be a well constructed unit.

Only problem is now that I have a clear cap, I want to keep it that way when the cap eventually needs replaced. Hope I can find one at that time lol
