The Mallory 4309 and jumping fuel psi question?

the fuel pressure gauge jumps up and down its like fuel pressure spikes or whatever youd like to call it but whatever i adjust regulator at is the max it will peak at on fuel psi gauge when the needle jumps. Ok so ive seen several threads about this problem and have yet to see the solution, i seriously dont believe i got a bad regulator or bad fuel pump since there has been several threads with same problem. MY fuel pump worked perfect with plenty of pressure for tpi setup, but ive heard it all. ive seen where someone has taken the regulator apart and taken out the spring, someone said to ad a larger return line. SO WHAT IS THE FIX ANYONE REALLY KNOW.

this is a tpi to carb swap car

You have to pull the fuel pump out,it is a small plastic valve piece on the fuel pump, just remove it and replace with a hose and two clamps, when you get the pump out you will see it no problem.
