Aftermarket cowl hood needed?

I have an '86 Iroc with a 305 tpi. I am soon changing the 305 tpi to a 350 carbuerated. Will I have enough room under my stock hood to fit the carb, or will I have to get an aftermarket cowl hood??? PLEASE HELP!

Should fit fine if you don't get some fancy pants tall intake.

Re: Aftermarket cowl hood needed?

I've got an Edelbrock 1405 in my Z/28 (also a 350) and it fits perfectly under the stock hood. It shouldn't be a problem at all.

AHerrin, welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

There are thousands of 3rd gens out there with carbs. The Edelbrock Performer and Performer RPM intakes, and other companies' similar intakes, with a Quadrajet, Holley, Edelbrock, Demon, etc., carb, will fit under the hood as long as you use a drop-base air cleaner.
