update on tps adjustment

A few months back i posted a thread requesting info on adjusting the tps on my 1987 5.0 carbed camaro and just wanted to update on progress.
Well it turns out that when i placed the airhorn i bent the springloaded plunger
(again) even though i used a putty knife to hold it down. So i was unable to adjust the voltage. Well when i opened up the carb and saw what i had done i bought a new one and was triple careful when placing the airhorn, and got it right, then back probed the plug ( positive in center and negative on bottom ) turned on the key turned adjustment screw to proper setting: .49 volts ending adjustment with a clockwise turn. Put a drop of thread locker on the adjustment screw and replugged the hole. The car runs great now, ( although it is still idleing at about 1200 rpm in park or nuetral) but passed the sniffer in Portland Oregon. Sorry to be long winded but i wanted to update and say thank you very much for all the advise and help.

Re: update on tps adjustment

Good deal.

If it's idling high in neutral and drops significantly in drive (with a load) it's likely there's a vacuum leak somewhere. You can try capping EVERY vacuum port then reconnecting them one at a time to find it.
