Fuel line "loctited" on?
Good morning,

I am suffering the same problem as many on this board, when trying to replace my carb with a rebuilt unit, the fuel line inlet fitting appeared to be seized to the fuel filter on the front of the carb. I too partially mangled both the nut and my fuel line.

Why I am writing is that it looks like there is loc-tite or some other white goo on the threads of the fuel line connector. It almost looked like teflon tape used in plumbing but that just didn't seem right. Has anyone else noticed this?

I had the fitting soaked in a penetrant to break it free, but if this does not work, looks like I need to cut the fuel line and replace a section of it. However I'd prefer not to have to do this.

Any thoughts on what products can help break a loc-tite type of bond?

So who knew, sitting two days with penetrating lube did the trick )!!
