Should this hole be there? Defective metering block?

Hello,

Just like the subject says, should this hole be there?

This is the primary metering block from my speed demon 650 DP. It is as if the IFR has been drilled right through the block.

I have sent this photo to Barry Grant and am awaiting a response.

Thanks, AL.

Update, they are sending me a new metering block. I guess you really should tear down a brand new carb to check for these things. Wish I discovered this sooner.

I have a brand new Holley 750DP and could never get it to run right. I took it to Bo Laws to have them go through it and they found that is was not drilled out correctly from the factory. It was missing a few air passages.
