What exactly does a throttle stop do, and how can it help ets??

What exactly does a throttle stop do, and how can it help ets??

Just wondering. I see these things in the hot rod catalogues all the time and don't know a thing about 'em. They claim to help et's. I know that they look like they are for serious drag cars, but what the heck are they?!?

they maintain a consistant RPM at launch.
set the throttle stop, mash the gas pedal. The throttle stop limits the opening of the butterflies till you release it.
