Car: 82 Berlinetta(2)/57 Bel Air Engine: LS1 (LS1)/LQ4 Transmission: 4L60E (T56)/4L80E Axle/Gears: 10B 3.73(9" 4.11)/8.2" 4.11 | The throttle connection is likely to be different than your stock accelerator cable, as is the connection to the transmission throttle valve cable. Some of the really early q-jets had an exhaust passage on the front of the throttle plate, but I doubt yours does. Otherwise, all q-jets will bolt to any q-jet manifold. The fuel inlet may be different, coming straight in from the front instead of from the right side like most of the later ones.
Depending upon the year and application, the big blocks usually got the higher flowing q-jets, in the 800 CFM range. But, then, my 84 full-size van w/305 has a 795 cfm, while the Edelbrock replacement on my 396 is only a 750 (which is plenty big). For a better idea what you have, find the part number on your carb and use it to start chasing down info.
