Optimal jetting is still 14.6 air/fuel ratio reguardless of carb size. A 1050 will just dump in a lot more 14.6 ratioed fuel than a 750 will. If you're spinning the 454 to 8000 rpm the 1050 will be fine. I ran an 850 on my 383 and buzzed it to 6400 rpm.
