Rebuilt the Qjet. runs worse.

Only rebuilt it because the TPS was bad, so after 200K I said why not. I got one of those 25 dollar kits from Advance auto. Do I need one of those funky screwdrivers to adjust it? What is the funky thing called?

Any tips or articles other than the Tuning for Perforamnce for CC Qjets?

Thanks!!

The wrenches you need are called double ended D wrenches. They are sold by Thexton and they have a site online. One end of one wrench adjusts the TPS the other end adjusts the lean mixture screw. Another flexible double D wrench adjusts the idle mixture adjustment screws. Finally, you will need an angle gauge to readjust choke plate settings under different circumstances.
Now for the resources. The Haynes book on Rochester carbs is excellent. High Performance Pontiac magazine in the Feb, April, June and Dec 1996 did a 4 part series on rebuilding the q-jet. I found the Chilton manual to also be very useful and finally the the instruction sheet that comes with the rebuild kit is useful if you cross reference it with the other sources.
As for some tips, just follow all directions CAREFULLY and IN ORDER and don't bend the air bleed tubes because it is impossible to find replacements, even from GM.

I puchased the Haynes manual, and it is great, unlike the 82-92 F body book.
I found the toll as well. Thanks!
