Send a message via ICQ to GOLD85
get an edelbrock performer intake with a holley TBI unit. a comp 262 gring or something simalar would be a good cam for you 305. some headers and new 3inch exhuast. some under drive pullies. a K&N air cleaner and a good tune up, and you would have a pretty smokin 305, oh and some better gears out back would probley help, ie. 3.42s.
have fun

yeah, i would agree with Gold85 about the edlebrock performer, as i have it on mine and am quite satisfied. You could go either TBI or get a non-cc carb and just modifiy that for some real performance gains. With either setup you should run an open-element aircleaner (drop base to clear the hood) Good luck

Consider a Weiand Action + manifold instead of the Performer. An EGR version is available, and the RPM range is slightly higher than the Performer.

You can't just bolt a TBI unit on top of teh Performer (or any carb manifold). You will need some type of adapter plate to sandwich in-between. I am sure others on the board could help you as I have heard about it being done several times.
