carb and manifold

i have a rochester carb and i stock manifold on a corvette 350. i was told that if i put an aftermarket carb like an eldebrock on a stock manifold it would have some vaccumm leak even with an adapter. is this true and if i replace the carb should i do the manifold to? or can i just do the carb not lose power and if i do lose power how much?

ok first you wont have a vacuum leak if you use the correct adapter. use the one that has a q-jet looking side anda square looking side not the four hole adapter!!! it could cause leaks! as for how much power if just changing carbs you wont lose any! in fact you'll only gain horsepower! get a holley 4150 dpr or a edlebrock 600 and you wont be dissapointed email me with any questions you might have.

Future mods performer rpm air gap intake (polished) and 600 edlebrock carb, comp roller cam, and way better headsa 400 defintely in the works!
