The alternator and the water pump had 500 miles on it. That is what I stated in my add and that is also what I told you. Anyone that has ever bought a water pump new should know that once condensation hits it it will rust. The alternator just had some dust on it. I told you I could send you pictures and I also told you I would send you the original reciept when I bought it. Anyone that has kept up with my project would know that I just started it last may. They would also know I didn't get it running til last December. It went for about 3 weeks while I was working bugs out of it and Shattered a rod. So yes I was honest about the pump and alt being new and I still say I will send you reciepts when I bought them. I will even post them on this website for everyone else to see. Ask anyone else that has ever dealt with me. I am an honest guy. I don't shoot bullshit to noone. So before you start bashing someone get your facts straight. If you check my itrader ratings all good. Check my ebay ratings all good. I never lied to you about anything. I told you everything about the parts you bought.
I have dealt with him and everything that was said was true. cast iron pumps do rust so no big surprise that is why I use all aluminum. Also since I did deal with him I also know he gave you a good enough deal that the water pump could be replaced and it still be a good deal. for a stock replacement it is about $30 and good insurance anyway. I never put on a used pump on something I planned to keep. and the alternator is almost all aluminum so it just needed wiped off like he said. and I doubt the alternator shaft or the pulleys was all that rusty because the ones on my old 87 were original and the car was pretty rusty that's why I scrapped that one out and they still looked new after I cleaned them. I have no complaints about him, and yeah this should be posted on the feedback board.
Sure back up the guy who sent me a new water pump with 500 miles on it that was rusted fom inlet to outlet with so much corrosion that I could have sworn it was inderwater for 5 years. But hey I am a new guy what do I know about anything. You guys all have third gens rust is like apart of your home.
This guy sent me a pm saying he still thinks he got a good deal but he still comes on this thread and continue to bash me.... ... He still says he don't believe a cast iron water pump will rust in no time. I told him to go buy one and set it outside. Let's see if he can determine which one he bought and which one I sent him then .
Hopefully very soon. Funny how people start showing their true colors after money changes hands.
I have bought NEW water pumps from the parts store that have been rusty, and it doesnt make a damn bit of difference to me as long as they work. I wouldnt care if the entire thing was rusty, they can be cleaned up VERY easily if so desired for paint or whatever.
He could have easily had everything cleaned up and lookin nice in the amount of time he's spent complainin about it. He was offerred pics and reciepts, so if he's not happy with it then he shouldnt have been in such a damn hurry and took the time to see what he was getting.
