cam91rs1 where is my column?

Hello Jared,
I hope you are not trying to screw me over, I guess I shouldn’t have trusted you but I did, I need a tracking # for the column, the column, or send me my louvers back. Here is how everything has transpired since we made the deal just so everyone knows. The only reason I am posting this is because he supposedly shipped the column last Friday, has not given me a tracking # and is now stating he never received the louvers I sent and have proof of them being delivered.

Original thread:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/ex...-steering.html (Trade hood louvers for steering column?)
Bad transaction before this:
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/cl...t-82-iron.html (watch out for 82 iron duke)

Here are the Private messages between him and I:

The louvers are really nice with only one half broken stud in total. The half broken stud is in the middle of the louver so it will not affect mounting. Please send me your addy so I can get them packaged.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

Here is the latest to keep everyone who is interested informed, he PM'd me and wrote:
3/30:
"hey those louvers didn't come to saturday not monday yours should be there by now as well i sent it out a week ago i used usps they told me 5 days cause it was parcel post let me see if i can track it down i didn't get the delivery confirmation but i'll see whats going on"

It seems like he is telling one lie after another to cover up the first lie, I wish he would have just maned up, told me the truth in the first place, and he would avoided a situation like this.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

Just an FYI there is no way to track a package through USPS unless you pay for delivery confirmation.
Also I ship a LOT of packages through usps, they are slow but do not lose stuff, or at least they have not lost any of the probably 100 packages I have sent through them. Lately USPS seems very slow, I shipped out an antenna that should of been 5 business days but took about 2 weeks, no idea why. Give it a chance, USPS is always slow but reliable.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

in my opinion if you are sending any part worth more than like $5 you should pony up the 65 cents for a tracking number and delivery conf. this guy def sounds like hes covering up mistakes (intentional or unintention). hope you guys get it worked out !

I sent my package out AS PROMISED, it arrived to him AS PROMISED in a few days. Why did he not send it out on Friday UPS with tracking like he stated I am not bashing anyone here buddy, all I want from him is the TRUTH instead of one lie after another. If he is your buddy why don't you find out what is really going on and post it here because he wont. Please reread all his posts and read through the original thread if you think he is in the right, heck he lied about sending out a payment when I orginally dealt with him and he was caught telling a lie there also. All I want is a tight steering column or my louvers back, simple as that, I don't need any more smoke blown up my arse There is one thing I really hate and that is a liar, when someone tells a lie they have to keep telling lies to cover up the original lie and it turns to this

I always ship USPS Priority Mail, it takes 2 days and comes with delivery confirmation. It only costs a couple of buxs more but it is worth it because you know it will get there on time. If he says he sent it all I can do is wait, originally he stated he sent it UPS and forgot the tracking # at work, so lets see what happens

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

USPS priority mail doesnt come with delivery confirmation, it is extra. Delivery time is dependant on distance, it is not always 2 days. It is faster than parcel post but not always 2 days. Anyway, good luck. I have a nice column from an 88 IROC if you still need one.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

This sucks that you are getting screwed. I have dealt with people in the past who say they sent it USPS and have no delivery confirmation. You basicly are taking there word(which isnt much in this day and age) that it was actaully sent. Then they can lay all the blame on the post office when it never shows.

The way I see it, he owes you money or a column if it doesnt show up. Delivery confirmation is to protect the seller and it deosnt cost much. Its his problem if he cheaped out and didnt put it on the package. Also if he stated he was shipping UPS and sent it out USPS then thats just bad business.

Oh, and 83Chevy_Camaro...your a douche bag. If thats the best you can contribute to this site then go away.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

not defending anyone or attacking anyone but i know when i ordered USPS shipping it took ALMOST a month to get my stuff.. NO JOKE! hopefully you'll still get the column you traded for. Plus i think if you didn't get the column he should give you back the louvers..... but whatever hardly anyone cares about anyone anymore.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

You guys are opening up old wounds. I recognized the name(cam91rs1) and knew I had previous dealings with him (back in '06). Went a couple months. I had to ship the parts back because he misrepresented them and I was out the shipping. I've got lots of emails. Why is he still here? Stay away

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

Your are ultimately responsible if the item doesnt show up. You chose to send it USPS instead of UPS or Fed Ex that can be tracked. Not to mention with UPS or Fed Ex you get $100 of Insurance.

With respect, choosing to ship using the Post Office instead of UPS does not make one responsible for parts not arriving. The USPS is a legitimate form of delivery, and with Delivery Confirmation it provides limited ability to track your packages, at least at their endpoint.

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

This is true but without putting the .55 cent confirmation on it would be a huge mistake on the sellers part and IMO make him responsible. I ship alot of smaller Items through them and always put a confirmation on them. I sold a few things a few years back that i failed to put a confirmation on and the buyer stated they it never showed. I had no proof it was sent so i refunded there money or sent out another part.

You have a valid point there Dave, but when an individual states that he or she is shipping through one source, then states the next day that the tracking # was forgotten at work, then states a week later the the package was shipped via another carrier with no tracking # and now it is two weeks later and who knows if anything was ever shipped, is this guy trustworthy I have never had a problem shipping USPS 2 day Priority Mail (NEVER) My packages get there within 2 days (unless I ship on Friday) and I have always been able to track them. What also gets me is that I tracked the louvers, he stated he never got them but I knew he did and after he stated he hadn't received them he offered them for sale

I hope the column does come, but I am very skeptical at this point. Of course it is your fault because you lied about shipping

Thank you very much for the offer Chris, let me see where this goes and I will let you know. The main reason I wanted to get a tight one is because I didn't want to mess with taking it apart.
Thank you

Re: cam91rs1 where is my column?

Hello Jared,
There was in fact a pink slip in my mail box today, now all I have to do is pick it up and make sure it's ok. I never meant to start this but when you stated you never got the louvers and my tracking showed you had them and you attempted to sell them right after that I was infuriated. I hope the column is what you said it is. Please make things easier for you for all future posts and transactions, please be upfront and honest, honesty is the best policy.
Lawrence
I will post a follow up on the condition of the column because I never saw a picture; I don’t think you have a camera yet.

Iron duke, kind of off topic but what did you do to your column..i just had to tear into mine. What happened to yours to make your car immobile? I am just curious to know, if it all else fails, two brains (not to mention everyone else on this board) are better then one in figuring out how to fix your old one

Well my column was so floppy I hated to even take my car for a drive. I took out the column two weeks ago and started taking it apart by reading posts and the reading the manual I have. I ended up breaking the plastic shroud so I basically just busted the column up with a hammer to get my turn signal switch out My old column is in pieces and is a pile of junk I hear it's easy to repair but I guess I don't have the time or the tools to do it myself
