I paid IROC88LB9 for 58mm throttle body as per classified ad on this board.
Paid thru Paypal as per agreed price and shipping but seller did not deliver.
I waited three weeks sending email requests for info and recieved replies from th eseller that it is on it's way, will arrive shortly, then another story about fedex rejecting the package, then finally a last promise to send it with shipping number which never happened and now seller does not return messages any longer.
[Happy to say the issue was resolved by the seller, note below]

yeah, im SUCH a scammer, thats why i sent your money back?
its not MY fault you wanted a declared value of less then 20 bucks on a peice worth more then 300.
NOBODY will insure the package for what its worth, because you need me to put 20 bucks delcared value on it for customs, i CANNOT control that, and im not going to be held liable for a package thats damaged, and im certainly not going to PAY to replace the item if it got damaged in transit, all fedex/ups/usps would pay is the 20 dollar "gift" value.
you have your $$$ back, again, how am i a scammer?

how much are the taxes on it anyways? surely it cant be THAT bad?
The best way to get US parts up here in the "Great White North" is to have them shipped to a UPS store south of the border then go pick them up. If you're within a couple hours drive of the border it's well worth the extra trouble. You'll still have to pay taxes when you cross back into Canada and declare your purchases. I'm not sure what BC sales tax is but you'll pay that and the GST. There are no brokerage charges if you do it this way unless it's a whole car which is another process all together.
I've bought 10's of thousands of $ in boat & car parts this way. Luckily I'm just a few mins from a border crossing into NY state. I do know guys in Ottawa that coordinate their deliveries to the UPS Store in NY that way.
I saw a guy at the UPS store on Thurs trying to jamb 4 x 20" rims in an '03 Vette!

yes sometimes it can be that bad.
Sometimes they charge taxes on the declared value, sometimes they decide (for reasons known only to them) to charge taxes on the price of a new unit -- I am told because the part being shipped thru may not be specified in their look up table. For example I bought an LS1 aluminum driveshaft from a 2000 SS for $90 on ebay and had to pay $182 in taxes. I keep the receipt to remind myself... oh and I bought seat belts for $30 and had to pay $85 in taxes.
Everyone I know who has shipped from the US to Canada has stories of abuse by Kanada Kustoms.

Re: IROC88LB9 beware! Takes money does not deliver
I purchased the COMPLETE intake minus throttle body from iroc88lb9 back around August 3, 2009. I am still waiting for parts he "forgot" to ship. He claims to have shipped them 2 weeks ago, but will not send me the tracking number. He claims he lost it and Fedex will not give him the tracking number.
I don't think he ever shipped the parts. Buyer Beware.

well I feel your pain
What I can say is after cancelling the deal on the TB I once again worked out a deal with iroc88lb9 for the TB and it finally arrived.
This seller has alot of delays that a buyer will have to contend with. But this seller did eventually deliver after alot of prodding. Have to stay on his back I guess (like I did).
Re: IROC88LB9 beware! Takes money does not deliver
That is true. The first box he sent was missing half the parts. First he said it would ship UPS, then he said USPS, then it actually arrived via Fedex. That took two weeks of course.
I contacted him about the missing parts and he said he would ship the rest of the parts in two more boxes. He shipped one box. The other he claims was lost by the shipping company. For the past 3 weeks he has been "looking for the tracking number". He sent me the tracking number for the box that did arrive. Somehow he lost the tracking number for the box that didn't arrive.
Re: IROC88LB9 beware! Takes money does not deliver
I recommend always using a credit card with paypal. The credit card company will protect you when paypal fails.
I never did get the remaining parts that he claimed to have shipped to me, but couldn't give the tracking number for.
