hey everyone im new to thirdgen.org and finding a convertible specific forum is sweet.
i bought mine in feb 04 and needed a bit of work. the center section of the spoiler was missing so i replaced it with a different wing and am in the process of smoothing out the spot welds on the sides. the front and rear covers need work. the rear was off a teal car and the black paint is coming off. the front met a curb the day i lowered it. i had to replace the motor 4 days after i bought it. i found a rod bearing in the oil pan. oh well it was a good start to moding it. it sports a 350 l98 and 5 speed. im doing body and interior work now. ive done a little suspention work to it.
Camaro verts are rare but topless Firebirds are even rarer!

Thanks, that side looks good but the other side is a slightly different shade. The previous owner let his wife drive into a guardrail so the replacement panels on there don't 100% match.
Thanks, I love the thing. It's my dream car. Just gotta make it go faster, turn sharper and stop quicker.
According to the build numbers listed on this site there were a total of 28183 Camaro Convertibles made and only 3829 Firbird Convertibles made. I'm sure that this number does not reflect conversions made by other companies besides ASC... Given the large diffrence in numbers it is pretty safe to say that the Topless Birds are a lot rarer than the Camaro Verts...
You will have to scroll down a little ways but not too far to find the production numbers...

That is exactly the information I needed. Speedy, you rock.
Now of the 950 Firebirds converted by ASC in 1991, how many were V6, LO3 and LB9? Given an even distribution of these engines to ASC, it's possible there were only 330 or so of any particular engine.
So then it could follow, my '91 ragtop with a 5.0 LO3 is one in 450.
LB9 is a 305 TPI. Most if not all 91 and 92's if powered by a V8 was a LB9 305.

Those are all beauties. This car I'm told is only 1 of 104 made for that year by ASC. Car listed for $24,000 new, according to Pontiac files, making this fairly steep that year.
I need, unfortunately, to sell this sweet ride due to finances and am looking for a 3rd gen buyer.
Would be interested in hearing some offers.

Here's mine. 1990 IROC 305 TPI / T5. I just bought it a few days ago. It's basically all stock, and makes a nice addition to my thirdgen collection. She's got high mileage, but seems to have been well taken care of. I need to get some hood louvers on it, fix some rips in the driver seat, and a couple other minor things.
Cr@p? I see nothing but beauty there...............
Thanks man, I appreciate the compliment. Especialy after having spent four long weeks in the garage, pulling double shifts.
Just gotta put the WC T-5 in tonight and I'll be ready to take her out to my first Camaro meet.

Originally posted by Dan88IrocZ I had a 88 Iroc-z Convertible. Like a few others, I've gone to the darkside and I now own a 2002 GT.
I once would have had a smart remark for someone who had the privilege of owning one of these cars going out and buying a Furd. I can't say anything about that anymore.
No, I haven't gone and bought a Furd I still own three Bowties...
I saw my first '05 Musdang this past weekend. They really did a good job making it look like the old Mach I Musdang(no I'm not mispelling it!). The car really did look good - but it is still a FURD... The sad thing - and what really struck me - was that GM had NOTHING to counter it.
I am convinced more than ever that GM has lost it's corporate mind. They have not kept faith with the people who buy their products. Why should I feel any loyalty to them? Maybe I should go out and buy a Dang Dodge...

Don't worry. I was sick of the 'Vert and it's problems, but now I regret ever letting it go. Since then I've literally given any 'Vert parts I have scrounged up to a friend of mine with his 90 'Vert. I think when he decides to sell it I'll be buying it.
In my previous post I hope I did not offend you. From your reply it did not seem that I did, but I wanted to make sure. I was lamenting the fact that the Fbody is Dead.
BTW: I have/or had two things from Pittsfield MA...
Checking the history of my car I found that it was registered for a year in Pittsfield MA. It is also the hometown of an Ex-Girlfriend who over time has come to be one of my best friends...

Speed: I didn't take offense to anything. I am in enemy territory anyways That's cool that it was registered here, how long ago??
Graboid: When I had my Iroc-z, there was less knowledge and parts available. It wasn't exactly the easiest car for a 18 year old kid at the time to own it. She was in great shape when I let her go. Although the search for specific parts were pissing me off, getting the trunk lined up was pissing me off. Finding the seal that goes around the tonneau cover was pissing me off... Kind of lame stuff to push me over the edge but what can I say. I regret ever letting her go, especially when I saw her on E-bay fetching big bucks. GRRR!! Don't give up!! Your 'Vert looks awesome!!
I know what you mean about being sick of things. I am about tired of crawling under the car and tightening up header bolts. But of course that is not the car's fault I'm the ID10T who put them on! Of course when I watch that Tach needle sweeping toward the redline I appreciate the result. I have locking bolts waiting for the next session!
My car would have been up there about four years ago owned by a lady who would have been about forty then named Kathleen. I'm not sure of the last name. There was a divorce and a reconciliatlion (remarriage) and then another divorce in the whole process. I bought the car from her 2X ex-husband...
Do you know anyone in Pittsfield with the last name Sabino?

Doesn't ring a bell, but that's odd it came from my city. Small world isn't it? How much did you purchase it for? I bought mine off a person off of Tyler Street for $2,700 with 88,000 miles.
That's a good looking Vert ya got. What rims are those?
