82-92 Camaro/Firebird Convertible Light Bars

Hey Guys I was looking around on the hawks 3rd gen website and saw they had a roll bar (they call it a light bar) for a 3rd gen vert. Just thought I would post this so you guys know about it. I think they are trying to get 15 or more people to order these in order to start making them. Check it out

Yeeeea Right,

Uhhh for 499.00 they better be wrapped in pieces of 100 bills for all the money thier charging, when they drop the price to something resonalble ill buy. Id be willing to bet thier made of plastic and 6 to 8 weeks hahahahahahahahah

For $499 it better serve a purpose other than a light bar. It should somehow stiffen up the chassis better yet be a roll bar. I believe it's just plastic and it's strictly for looks.

I want one of these for safety's sake but if it's just plastic then

That price seems to be somewhat

i have the LEATHER wrapped bar in my 87, it also has a led light in back, it's a solid bar for looks yes, but go to northstar camaro club minnesota, go to members, chris l williams, it was one of the best additions to the car

For that price you're well on your way to having a true roll bar welded it. And I'd go the rollbar. Safety > Looks.

they arent plastic, they are a steel bar wrapped in leather and the are bolted to to body to add strength and stiffness.

Look at the bar, it goes up and over. That's not going to add any noticable stiffness to the car. It's going to flex like hell. If it were straight across it would prevent SOME flex.
