i was wondering if any body can tell me about companies that did custom convertibles in 1985 and im talking about 4 seaters not roadsters, like this firebird http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2149177 and ive also seen 1985 z28 that i think seems to be from the same company because it was 4 seater and also didnt have Tonneau Cover like that firebird in the link, so can any one tell me about these 85 convertibles?

did they do 4 seaters or 2 seaters?

I can tell you about the Auto Form Corp. cars. I have an 84 Z28 convertible. It is a two seater speedster style car. She has a vinyl covered fiberglass top with soft sides. She started life as a hard top Z28 that was sent to Auto Form Corp to have the conversion done. From there she was shipped to the local dealership where she was purchased by the original owner. The subframe has been completely modified for chasis stiffness. It has a double diamond subframe connectors to tie the subrames together. I thought ASC didnt start doing them until 1986?

Asc didnot start doing convertibles until 1987.

A few were done by them as proto types in 86.

i remeber reading one of the posts about all the companies
that did convetibles before 86 but i searched for it
and icant seem to find it

my '84 Camaro has a power top, and was done by Matrix.....had a guy from Colorado, I think, confirm that his had a power top and was a matrix conversion also.......there was a post months ago that listed several other companies that did some.....

how much heavier ur convertible than other camaros in 1984?
