top. this is the rod system, not the cable system. i am looking for the slide plate that screws into the tonneau right behind the drivers seat. mine is gone. i have all the linkagem, just missing the slide. car is an 88 iroc.
Hawks Third Gen Parts has a conversion kit that looks pretty good but is also pretty pricey. You can convert it yourself by drilling a lower hole on the pin holder and installing the cable system. Problem is the hole on your tonneau cover is still larger that the newer style release mechanism. A pretty simple plate will take care of that, however. I wanted to keep my vert very original but I had to look for the part for literally three years and when I finally found it it was $163.00 on ebay. VERY RARE PART!!! As someone who's been there, unless you need or want to keep your car original, here's the link: http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...PROD&ProdID=16
Thanks for the link...I might have to go that way. But for now I will try to get original even if it is hard to find. If you come across one let me know.
Thanks, Dukie
I think I saw one in my local pick a part. Was a couple of months ago. I did take some of the vert specific stuff for mine. I'm going over there today just to see what new 3rd gens they have in. I know they are normally pretty cheap there.
