Need a Top Frame Bolt - Convertibles - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Anybody have one?Its on the lower part of the frame near where it mounts to the body.Picture circled is where it goes.Looks like its torx or hex.Im not sure

Here is what it looks like on the opposite side of the frame.Thats the bolt I am looking for

From your pics I am having a little difficulty determining exactly which bolt you need.

Check out this post and see if it is one of the two I had to replace.

Yes I believe it is the exact same one in your 2nd picture by the lower arrow

I have one too, they look like the coupe hatch shock bolts though so might wanna check a local jy though.

Its not the same as a hatch shock bolt.The one I need is not as thick.Hatch shock bolt wont fit thru the hole

if kaitlin has one go ahead and get it. I will spray the ones I have down with pb blaster tomorrow and see if I can get it out without it breaking (junk steel doesn't hold up the greatest, gotta love the 80's). I am going to try and make somekind of a greaseable bushing and a through bolt for mine so I never have to mess with it again. Mine will require some modification for though, the side pivot at the top of mine was snapped off and I had to drill it and put a different style bolt in and I wasn't happy with it so I bought both side pieces from a top frame from somone on here a while back. Let me see if I can find my torx sockets and I'll try to get it for you tomorrow.

Sounds good......Let me know how you make out.I believe my side pivots apparently were both broken cause they are both held together with a phillips head screw and washers.I know thats not the way they were originally put on there at the factory.

I got it but I don't have the torx socket to take it out. I have a set of them somewhere and all I could find is t10 through t27 the bolt is either a t30 or t40. Let me look around a little more.
