UK Convertible- New Purchase!

Hi all,

Used to post here a long time ago when I had my white ZZ4 engined '86 IROC. I had to sell it back then for financial reasons and family. Everyone wrote me off but I'm back with this 50k miles '88 Vert.

Drove it home through Ireland, Scotland and England yesterday and loved every minute of it!

Next job Alston SFC's and strut tower brace. Will get it serviced well and needs some cosmetics. Standard 305 tpi auto with cherry bombs. LOVE THIS CAR!!!

Very nice car - I have a neighbor who's an expat Brit, gave him his first ride in an American convertible the other day - in my '90 RS 'vert . . .

Sweet ride! The decals and stripes are a little different than stock, but very minor.
Awesome vert. And in my favourite colour!

Re: UK Convertible- New Purchase!

You mean the IROC door decals should be at the rear of the doors? Stripes are correct for an '88 though right?

Re: UK Convertible- New Purchase!

They are in the wrong location. Should be on higher and on the body of the car, not on the ground effects moldings. Very likely the car has been repainted at some point in it's life, the original decals were removed and later replaced, or, it has the RPO DX3 (which was new beginning in '88 for a "stripe delete" option) and somebody did their best to add the decals.

PS; Don't get me wrong, I love the car and she is in beautiful shape. I probably should stop being such a stickler for details.

Re: UK Convertible- New Purchase!

Black windshield surround-

Previous owner put in a new windscreen and had the frame sprayed satin black. I have Road & Track from 86 with the exclusive on the verts and interestingly the surround is also black. Personally I like it
