Dome light in the dash?

Did the convertible camaros come with a light above the radio? I was looking over my '87 today and noticed a rectangular hole with a couple of screw holes and a single-wire connector under the center vents. The car has been mostly stored the last 13 years, but I don't remember ever taking out a light or anything else that may have been mounted there. I'm assuming that if it was due to a light it was a convertible option, because a friend with a T-top version told me he has nothing mounted there. It's directly above the radio, under those center vents. I'll try to snap a picture of it later today. If that is a type of light, what do y'all suppose my chances of finding a replacement would be??

Re: Dome light in the dash?

Greg has pointed you in the right direction

However, your post gave me an idea to place a dome type light in that location..... It isn't a bad idea and I'm debating how to do it cleanly. Will definitely spend some time under my dash next week to see what I can come up with.

Re: Dome light in the dash?

So I see, guess I need to work on my searching skills a bit more. Since it's obviously not a ragtop thing, I'll have to get back with my T-top buddy to tell him to recheck his car. I've wired in a lighted rear-view mirror on mine since I just hated not having any lights when needed, but making a dome light under the vent doesn't sound like a bad idea either. Thanks y'all for getting me straightened out.
