Found a few '82-'88 (non ASC) convertibles for sale

Some may be ASC, but none are "factory ASC" convertibles.

I normally wouldn't post these, but the first car listed below looks like a good one and the seller is a good communicator and VERY MOTIVATED! Hope I help one of these find a buyer. I wish more of these had labels on them to identify the converter. If you think you know who converted any of these, please let me know.

This is a 1984 Convertible camaro z28, In 1984 GM sent 250 of these cars to a company called auto foam to do the convertible conversion. Only 25 of these cars were made with the roof making them insulated and hard top convertible the others were made in a soft top due to it costing to much to use the hard top. I am the third owner of this car it runs great. Everything is stock except we put stainless steal exhaust on in-place of the old. The car has 29,700 original miles and comes with a dust cover.

1987 Firebird/Trans Am Clone Convertible. This vehicle is a project that is almost complete. Vehicle has new exterior paint (1965 Corvette red), engine compartment was cleaned and repainted, Trans Am ground effects added, Trans Am hood, rebuilt 1987 350 TPI GTA motor (w/ one step bigger cam, new Edelbrock headers, new Flowmaster 3” exhaust, new water pump, new computer and chip, chrome valve covers, pulleys and brackets, and new radiator), new TCI 700R4 transmission, new carpet, gray cloth seats out of 1998 Camaro w/ less than 500 miles, new tires and GT53 Billet wheels, GTA sway bars and springs, and Koni shocks all the way around. The car also has power steering, power brakes, power locks and power windows, air conditioning, tilt wheel, and AM/FM cassette radio. The main thing left to be done is complete engine hookups (wiring, hoses, fluids, couple engine components) and put on some trim pieces. I have almost everything to finish project plus many extra parts. Paint flaked off front ground effect from loading on trailer. Well over $11,000 invested in this project. I must sell, I DO NOT want to trade. I have many extra parts that go with the car.

1984 Pontiac Trans Am Two-Seater Auto-Form Convertible
107,000 miles
This car was a RARE option done by few companies in 1983/1984. Not only is this Trans Am a convertible, its also a two-seater. The deck lid looks very unique when the top is down. Its very reminiscent of 50s and 60s era open wheel racers. I've heard varying numbers about how many of these cars were actually produced in '84, from 10 to 200.

This car is untouched and in great condition. There is not damage to the interior or exterior. I am the third owner, but this car was garage kept the entire life of the vehicle. Everything is in factory condition with all original owner's manuals.
NEW 305 LG4 4 Barrel Carberator and brakes. This car does need a few gaskets replaced.

Black Paint with Gold Lower Accents - GREAT CONDITION no scratches or dents.
Tan Cloth Interior - GREAT CONDITION no rips or tears. 305 LG4 4 Barrel Carberator Factory Automatic Transmission 15" Gold Hi-Tech OEM Wheels Standard 15" Tires Factory Solid Rear Swaybar Stock Front Struts Stock Rear Shocks Air Conditioning Power Windows and locks Cruise and Tilt Sound System Group Stock Stereo System

Re: Found a few '82-'88 (non ASC) convertibles for sale

And what is the deal with this car? I asked the seller to explain, but he did not reply to me. I don't believe he knows what he is talking about. Do any of you? What's the dealer's name? Surely ASC did NOT built this in '84!...but who did?

Here is sellers comment:
Up for sale is one of the rarest Pontiacs ever produced. A dealer in upstate New York fashioned himself as the next Yenko - with a flair. He had 20 5.0 H.O. Firebirds shipped - first to ASC to install the custom made convertible top, along with reinforcements. As they started with T-top cars, the underbody was already stiffer than hardtops from the factory too.

Once the cars were returned, brand new crate Big Block 454 c.i.d. engines were installed. A new Quadrajet 4 bbl was mounted on top of a free-breathing manifold, along with an engine dress-up kit As these folks were professionals, the engine bay looks like it came from the Pontiac Factory like that - it really is that clean. No hacking of body/frame structure, no spliced wires - everything plumbed and placed just like it should be. If you want the ultimate sleeper, this is the one.
