Hey guys, my 91 T/A 'vert needs a new top soon so I'm pretty torn between getting a top with a plastic or glass rear window. I'd like glass but they say that the window is smaller thus reducing reward visibility. I was wondering what the glass windows look like, so post up your pictures! Thanks! And what do you think I should do?
My vote is the glass window, and I'm sure the rest of the people here who bought one will agree they are superior. Not only does it look better, you can tint it much easier.
And as for the smaller window, it's not so small to the point that you can't see out of it. It's just slightly smaller than the original plastic window. You can see just fine out of it, in fact the best way to describe it is this: When I sit in the driver seat of my car and I look in the rear view mirror, All I see is the window through the mirror, with a slight perimeter of cloth, maybe a half inch strip around the outside of it.

What difference does it make though? I've never given it much thought... When I drive the car, the top is always down anyway. When the car isn't being driven it's in climate controlled storage under a cover.
I guess some people want to drive the car every day, rain, shine, and when it gets cold... not everyone has the luxury of having a second car to drive on not so nice days....

Don't you have to lower your seatbacks to get the top down tho?
That is what I hear others say...
John
Oh yeah! I heard that too. Anybody know anything about this?
Oh and my 'vert is my 2nd car. It'll be my daily runner (at least on nicer days) during the warmer months. If that makes a difference. My DR for anything else is a 94 Jimmy.

Yes you have to fold the seats down about halfway to get the glass to clear them, but it's not an issue. If you fold the seats down to put the top up or down, you can fold them back into the upright position after you're done moving the top. It's not like you can't use the back seats when the top is done. Like I said, it's not an issue.

Oh that's not bad. I guess the toughest part would be explaining that step to anybody who borrows your car so they don't try to force it in/out and break the glass hahaha.
And does anybody perhaps have a picture of a convertible Bird with the glass window? I know it's probably about the same but I was just wondering...
Another option for the rear seats is to just leave them down.
You wanting to raise and lower the roof is far more likely than ever actually having a passenger back there.

but but but what about all of the ladies that can't get enough of my car?! The more the merrier! I'm still single! lmao
depends on manufacture.i helped making pattern for the glass window top for E-Z ON AUTO TOP paterson N.J. now in S.Carolina.it uses the corvett glass blank installed in the top material. just unlock header, pop rear bow off deck lid, raise rear bow up,pop open rear deck, lower rear bow into well, fold front of top back keeping glass flat on floor letting upper rear bow slide under material, close deck lid. NO MOVING REAR SEAT.
