Re: If you own an '84, '85 or '86>>
84 350 HO - Came with 1 electric fan and one carburetor fan (which was a dealer install directed by GM for all 84's late in the year that had not been sold yet, supposedly to prevent vapor lock after the car shuts off because of the high temp the engine runs at). Thermostat is 195 degrees, electric fan is set to turn on at 236 degrees. Electric fan turns off after the car drops back to 200 when the car is moving again instead of sitting in traffic and the air dam puches air up to the radiator. These parts worked perfectly until the motor threw a rod at 85,000 mileson original engine last year. The carb fan always seemed useless because there was never any gas left in the carb to start the car up and i had to let the electric choke really run, and pump up a lot of gas to start. Maybe it would have been worse without the carb fan, but I doubt it. The only time I had an actual overheating (the car runs really hot to begin with) was when my radiator broke.

Re: If you own an '84, '85 or '86>>
You would be perfect if you had the 160 degree in. I went through this last summer. Broke the bolt in the intake so I used it as an excuse to upgrade the intake...haha...the cooler you get these cars, especially in the summer the better off you are.
