The files are stored as Adobe documents. Go to www.adobe.com and download the free reader.

OK--got it to work.

Since I'm a "newbie" to this board, I'll ask a stupid question. Who is Willie and where is he located?

Here updated info:

My articles are long. There are actually four sections, two for single apps. and two for the dual. The two informational sections are published on this site. The two "how to" sections are not. Please do NOT PM me nor post a request for these here. Instead, e-mail me and I will e-mail you the "how to" sections in pdf format.

Now, if you requested this information within the last two months and did not receive a reply, please re-send your request via e-mail. I recently bought a new PC and lost some e-mails that did not transfer over from my old PC (darn Outlook)...

My in-box is always full and I oftentimes do not check it during the week. So please be patient and I WILL get back to you. Thanks guys!!

Willie

i was reading the total fan control wiring instruction that willie sent me and i read at the end that you need a resistor if using a 2.2 volt LED, but what if your LEDs are 12 volts?

Fan cowl

Nice articles. Ques. I put dual fans on my 5.0 from a 350 car. There isn't any kind of a shroud around the fans and they sit back a little from the radiator core. Might I be missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything. The factory dual fan setup never came with a shroud. I know the fourth gens did, but it's an entirely different setup.

These are very helpful, but i could swear i had seen a colorful wireing diagram for these articles, and i cannot find it now. It was for the single fan and for wireing the Hayden 3647 adjustable switch. it may have included dual fans in the same diagram, i cant remember.

If anyone knows what im talking about, lemme know where this diagram is, or just let me know that im making things up again haha.

No luck on theses here!

I personally want to have the manual override luxury, but discussing with friend, it sounds like that would be the only way to operate vs having sensor control, in other words, you'd have a switch mounted were you select when the fan is on or off. In my case, I'd prefer it running prior to overheat condition anyway, Will both fans run at the same time?

I've been trying to get my hands on an 88 or 89 owners manual off the 'Bay, but because the 89 in particular was the Pace car, those items remain in demand and high cost. The luxury there is the diagrams used to show harness locations and connector numbers as well.
The Body Service manuals are even harder to find. I know Helm has these, likely, but usually at a relative high cost as well... if they still do

I see numerous posts on page 2 of this thread about Willie's article not being there any more. In the FAQ section there is a link to a article written by him

http://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/cool.shtml

I'm not 100% sure if it is the exact--word for word-- same article, but it covers a vast amount of info. I too read thru Willie's article some time back and learned everything I need to know about thirdgen cooling systems (EXCELLENT ARTICLE!!!)

EDIT:
OK--I took a closerlook and it is not the same as the article that is missing--SORRY!

Unless Willie is not around anymore ? could a moderator fix the link to the article above?

Has anybody tried to contact Willie and see if he still has the article in question, stored somewhere that he could repost?

I just took notice of that. My car doesn't leak a large amount of fluid but it certainly makes a loud rasping noise in the coolant resevoir while it is overheating. Steam comes out on the top manifold where there is a visible leak of antifreeze. I forgot to mention I had replaced my thermistat with what I thought was a 190 degree (IIRC) one specified, by suggestion . Very few mentions of one listing that high are found here. My TPI made putting it in a two day chore and no fun at all. I'm very tempted to scrap the 190 for something lower, like the 170 that appears a much better choice.
There is also some debris like a nest in the back of the plenum area underneath, atop the manifold. I tried to clear this stuff away, but it proved quite difficult. My lower shroud is removed as well, to get at the front nose bumper attaching bolts, I have to replace damaged parts ( attach point metal flage is bent and prevents a direct bolt up) there on mine.

Is there any way somebody can fix the first post to direct it back to Willie's articles?

Secondary Fan Control

Hi, I'm still having an issue with adjustable control for my 87 TPI GTA secondary fan circuit. The primary is fine since I had an 89 Corvette PROM programmed to start the fan at 187 degrees. It's workng fine.
I purchased a Derale switch to actuate the secondary fan system at a lower temperature. The Pontiac dealer technician could not get the fan to actuate on and off. It basically stayed running constantly and the technician said it appeared the Derale electronic module was shorted. I'm aware that there is a temperature activated sensor on the right side of the block which activates the secondary fan at an absurdly high temperature.
My question is this, what adjustable switch is the best one for controlling the secondary fan system (single only) and does the current temperature sensor have to be replaced with a lower temp one to ensure that the secondary fan can be controlled with an adjustable temperature wiring circuit?
Muchas Gracias,
Laser

Websites not Working!

Neither of the two web addresses direct the viewer to the intended subject matter, just to a media page.
