Best Thermostat to pass CA smog

I was having problems with my car running hot. I got a 160 stat and now it runs way cold. I just read somewhere that 160 will make my car produce higher emissions, is this true if so what would be the best for emission? should I stick with stock?
Thank you

a 180 stat would be a good compromise between the both. thats what i use now, u still can let the car sit for awhile and warm up.

Even though it's a PITA...I say use the stock 195 for the test, and switch to 180 afterwards.

Nah, I pass CA emissions with a 180 t-stat. All you have to do is dump a bunch of fuel alcohol in the gas tank before you take it in to get smogged. Before I used alcohol I barely passed. Last time, with alcohol, I passed with flying colors. You can get a gallon of fuel alcohol at most hardware stores.

I passed SMOG with a 160 thermostat and the ZZ4 in the car with no EGR. Just made it look like it had EGR
