I'm wanting to drain my coolant and I've never done it before. Does anyone have a picture of what the radiator pitcock looks like, and how you drain it? Also, once I drain it, is there anything else I should do - or just replace the tstat and refill it?
Thanks!

petcock is at the bottom of the radiator and looks like a giant screw with a wingnut type tip on it. just remove it and let the coolant pour out. now would be a good time to buy a radiator flush kit and use that as well. then fill it up and your done.

i believe 90-92 had plastic tanks on the radiater which doesn't look like a wing nut if im not mistaken where as the 84 had a metal tank and it looked like a wingnut hopefuly you can see the pic of what yours should look like.
i pulled my hose off yesterday to drain mine but i dont think i got it all? what is the best way to really flush it? my coolant is muddy color it needs to be done! and i need to replace heater core i think its clogged wont heat anymore.so i bught one and need to thoroughly flush before putting it in
why reopen a 2004 thread to ask how to flush your rad?
run a hose into the top to fill it as you drain it. Also remove your knock sensors, and drain your block. fill it from the waterneck and let it drain from the knock sensor holes as well. Use a flush if you want.
Then plug it all up and refill with 50/50 or whatever you prefer.
