Well...it is in. As you can see from the pics, it is far from a "direct fit" as they so call it. There is NO clearance at all on the sides. In order for me to get it to go down all the way i had to use a block of wood and a hammer and on the sides(NOT THE TOP), i had to tap her down. I had to build the fans out quite a bit to miss hitting the fins, and the power steering lines are very close also. I had to Cut the radiator tray with a dremel in order to to make it fit right, and i also had to cut the top radiator shroud, cause even with me, my brother and my dad pullin on it...the screws just where not going to line up. You can see from one of the pics, where i had to cut the tray in order to allow the rad to slide down and still have those radiator support bumpers still under the rad....i didnt want to take them right out and have something happen to it on the road. Car is still up on stands so i cant say how much of a cooling difference it is...thats the next step. Heres some pics though....doesnt look half bad if i do say so myself.

Looks good, man. I'm sure it'll be worth the hassle when it's 100 degrees out and your cruising along with zero worries about getting stuck in a traffic jam.
Looks nice considering all the work you had to do... I don't think it will fit in my car due to the procharger... the intake tube looks like it wouldn't clear and the upper rad hose/fans look like they would rub...
I was very satisfied with the quality of the Northern rad. However, I did have the same fit issues with mine. It was a very tight fit on the sides - you have to force it in, but it goes. I cut my top shroud the way you did. I still can't figure out why they put that plug on the bottom - it had to be cut so the rad would sit flush.
All in all, it was minor stuff and my 427 BBC now stays nice and cool.
ya know i have many people saying the same thing bout that plug on the bottom of it....but mine didnt come with it. Mine is flat on the bottom with no plugs at all, so once it was in it fit alright. Yea, its just funny how summit sayd "direct fit" and doesnt say anything about minor mods....wish they did...i prolly would of leaned towards something else. Well see once i drive her how well it cools her down
