radiator cap will not come off....

I doubt these things are supposed to latch onto our cars as much as mine does.

There used to be a time when I was able to turn it and now not so much anymore, its really locked on tight. I used full force trying to turn it to one side or even push down and turn and it is not moving at all.

I don't know why is it becoming such a pain in the *** to pry off.

So I looked around underneath the cap to see why the hell the thing isn't moving and the tabs are bent and basically caved in.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get this thing off. my car is running hot because the cap is bad...I need to take it off and replace it asap....

any input is greatly appreciated.

maybe try some small screw drivers to pry the tabs some.

try maybe using a strap wrench to get some leverage, just be carefully not to break the radiator.
