AC Condenser - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Hi, I have an 86 Camaro with AC. Used to be a 305TPI now its a 350TPI, I took the AC off of the car during the engine swap, but I did not cap any of the lines. I was told by someone that condenser gets ruined it air gets into it. Is this true? Do I have to replace it?

you should cap it but not going to hurt it by not capping it. what you have to worry about is anything getting in there i mean anything. the smallest thing like sand will blow the seals in the compressor. but air will not hurt it air will get in them if you need to replace it. that is why you vaccum the system before you charge it.

Well its been laying in my garage for the past few months. How can I get everything out. Try to vacuum it out of there? Is there a good way of doing this. And by the way thanks alot for the fast reply.
