how much oil for A/C?

ok, I was just wondering how much oil I need to put into the A/C stuff before I install it. I need to install ALL a/c related things so that means compressor, evap, condensor, accumulator etc...

So how much A/C oil do I put into all these thngs? I think the evaporator and condensor is like 3 ounces each according to the books right? What about the accumulator and compressor?

Also in regards to the compressor, do I just open up the holes in the back and pour the oil in? Thanks in advance guys!

Re: how much oil for A/C?

From what I have read, the accumulator takes about 2.5 ounces (that's what I used). Also from what I have read, you fill up the compressor by just pouring it in and then turning it over by hand at least 15 to 20 revolutions. Overfilling the system with oil can lock the compressor so careful...

hmmmm ok one question about that lol. I'm going with R-134a so is that PAG oil? I used I think ester oil on the daily driver which I converted to R-134a (thats what the part store gave me), and that apaprently ate away the seals and made it leak liek crazy or something like that when I had the car charged at a shop so they had to replace the seals.
