Hurray overheating - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

I just drove my car back from the mech after having a nice set of headers and a brand spankin new system underneath the car having been installed my car always ran fine (220) on the gauge but in the 15 mile drive home it went to 240 ish and stayed thier im assuming this is due to more residual heat from the headers, my question is what do you all think it will take to get it to run back in the 180-220 range? will a 180 thermo work? or am i looking at a aluminum radiator? im trying to do this cheap so any advice is apreciated.

a cooler thermostat and a cooler fanswitch will do the trick, total cost minus labor, about 50 bux

actually come to think of it, just check and make sure the fan switch is pluged in. its between 5 and 7 on the passenger side. they may have left it off and thats why you are overheating

Good call on the fan plug, come to think of it the fan never did come on along the way home. Thnx =)
