Anyone have the part number and source for a stock GN Fan Switch that's on @~220 & off ~200 degrees -- need to replace my Hypetech 4028 200/185 fan switch. I searched online & a store was selling the same cooling fan switch for 1987 305 Camaro as for the GN & want to avoid wasted time w/ wrong switch.

Here's what I have in mine...
Brand: BWD part# TFS1 switch
Brand: BWD part# PT770 pigtail

I got it from Oreilly's, they had to get it from their warehouse. See if you can do some checking and make sure these are the temps you want, I've forgotten exactly what they are. Sorry it's not exactly what you need, but it's a start.

think this is it - picture looks right - anyone have access to look up temperature operating specs for an ACDELCO part D1882D?

According ACDELCO site, this is a "SENSOR,ENG COOL TEMP" for a "V6 3.8L 231cid GAS FI T Engine VIN = 7" for following vehicles: FIREBIRD TRANS AM, FIREBIRD TRANS AM GTA SE, REGAL GRAND NATIONAL, REGAL LIMITED, REGAL GRAND NATIONAL, & REGAL T-TYPE.

update: read the Wells part catalog and found that SW505 has a 213-229 temp range, so am going w/ that one, plus only $8.99 at AZ. The part description for threads and picture are exactly the same as the list part (SW500). Hopefuly the SW505 lowers operating temp just enough but keeps it warm enough for a ccc setup.

The Wells catalog lists the SW500 as having a 220-239 temp range.

This info came from old posts with what looked like slightly lower cooling fan switch part numbers that may have worked w/ a single fan set-up like mine: GP Sorenson part number: FS6 - Opens at 220*- Closes at 204* F- Retail: Around $20, or a Standard Brands Ignition TS-136 220/204


I want to put a new fan control switch in this weekend at the same time I put in a new Stage 1 w/p & new balanced 195 thermostat.


Question -- Anybody have good or bad experience using one of these cooling fan switches in a single fan set-up?

that buick fan switch is 203 on, 188 off. at least that is the information I have. I feel those temps are too cold for the winter...

The E motor switch in 1989 was slightly cooler than the F motor 1989 switch, which was 238F on,

The usual spread is 15 degree's.
