if this don't belong here mods please move it, i wanna delete the ac cuz it just plaint don't work pump is missing and it just takes up to much space ive got the cannister out both the rads are gone and all the lines everything associated with it but i need my heater can i just pull the box from a non ac maro? also theres a relay bolted to the box and what looks like a thermostat of some kind its got 3 springs on it can i delete either of these? if you dont know what im talking about just say and ill post pics p.s. i searched and couldn't find exactly what i was looking for
on my car, all i just took all of the components out (compressor, condenser, accumulator, all the lines) and left the AC blower on. that was about 3 years ago and everything still works great- the heater, vent, and defroster. i even kept the AC dash control panel, i just don't put it on the AC settings.
Stock LG4 motor, 2.5'' exhaust with Dynomax Super Converter and Thrush Glasspack, 36mm hollow front sway bar with wonder bar, 24mm rear sway bar, Energy Suspension endlinks and Guldstrand bushings, Edelbrock Elite 4222 air cleaner with K&N filter, Hella 200mm H4 conversion headlamps w/ Painless harness and Osram H4 Silverstar bulbs, Pilot PL-362W driving lights with Hella 100W H3 bulbs, Deka Intimidator 9A78DT AGM battery
The item you mention with the 3 coils is a resistor, this controls the speed for your blower fan, so You cannot remove that.
The relay box is used to offer the high speed fan, which is also good to keep since it allows you to keep your 4 speed fan control.
You can do like I did, remove all the AC stuff, and put on the motal box and fan from a non AC bird or camaro and then re-use the aforementioned AC speed control resistor in place of the non ac car's resistor, doing this allows you to keep your car's stock wiring.
I also recommend you use the non AC heater box's blower motor assembly instead of your car's AC blower motor and cage, it's a pain to fit the AC motor and cage to the non ac box (lots of swearing, cutting, more cutting, ETC) and the screw holes don't line up right.
It's really easy to do, I think there was even a post about the delete process that helped me, you might want to do a quick search for AC delete.
ok im headed out to the junk yard in a few days to find the stuff anyway so i hope i can find a non ac camaro and i searched but i couldnt really find alot mostly just two or three posts ill try again with different wording tho
