i was just wondering what is the best water pump for my 383 i wass looking at team G but they dont do reverse rotation since I'll be using the stock serpentine i need a reverse one...welll i think so? so if any of you have idea let me know...btw my 383 will put out something around 500+HP and i'll be using the big griffin radiator
Even the stock rad can handle up around the 500 hp mark, so you're fine with your rad. Stock serpentine is reverse flow, so you will need a reverse pump.
You can get a water pump off of a 88 or so chevy pick up 305 (at your parts store), this pump is reverse flow and has an outlet for your heater hose.
The Edelbrock piece is nice. Aluminum housing for lighter weight, balanced flow side to side. Had no problem keeping my 475 horse engine cool (180*) with the stock aluminum radiator, a 170* thermostat, and a stock single fan.
thanks tpx but i just want to be safe so I'll go with the griffin rad and for the pump I'd rather have an high volume than a stock one
and 91 1LE do you have a part number of the edelbrock and is it reverse flow?
Alright well I'm no expert on the "best" high flow water pump so I'll leave it up to others, but I have heard good things from Edelbrock aluminum pumps.
