i put in a new engine with the old radiator and thermostat took it for a drive the gauge read it was at 270 but the coolant wasnt bubbling. i think i got all the air out of the system. i took the radiator cap off turned on the car and brought it up to 2000rpm to get the air out and then topped it off. is there anything else i need to do or is there a big problem

V6 heads, cam, intake manifold, fuel system, ignition, V6 parts blow out, prices 1/2 to 2/3 the retail price on NIB parts and well below ebay prices on my used parts.
it the origanl i think. i replaced the radiator cap and thermo today and it was slowly creeping up to 240 and that was driving it that it got that high with both fans on.
problem solved it was the radiator. the old one what cold to the touch at the bottom and super hot at the top it was clogged real bad. got a new one from advance for $91 dropped it in running at 220 thanks for the help
ok maybe it didnt solve it completely it did a lot better but not all the way. when cruising on the highway it would stay at around 220 with both fans on. when it got off the highway it would get up to 230-240 with both fans on but when it would hit open air at crusing speed it would cool down a bit. what you think bad fans or what.
Did you use the old water pump? Im having the same problem when you go to the auto part store to get a chevy water pump they ask if it is a serpentine or v belt. My 86 z28 has a serpentine belt to run the alternator and water pump where the newer camaros have serpentine that run the whole system, but to make a long story short my water pump was running backwards with the 305 originally in the car that worked fine but my 350 runs about 190 around town but on the interstate goes up to 230. I put in a 3 core radiator and add a 2nd electric fan to find out the water pump was the problem. Hope this is somewhat useful the water pump GM numbers for counterclockwise flow are 376444 if you have this one tell the auto parts person you need a standard drive pump.( goes same direction with the crank)

Reason: misspelled
the fans are spinning hard and loud. its the original 350 bored .30 over. its a brand new water pump and that does sound like it could be the water pump i would have to look into that.

Did you have to remove any fan wires besides at the connections for the fans during your install? My car came with a single electric fan, I put in a duel system but I wired the second fan up with reverse polarity so I was pushing air into the radiator instead of drawing it through. The only way I was alerted to this was the roar of the fan. It's three times as loud when it's hooked up backwards.
