help me fix my hacked up fan wiring... please!

i have an 87 iroc with a 305 tpi and the dual fan set up. when i first got the car the fan wiring was hacked so i just rigged it so the fans were always on when the key is on. i really want to put it back the way it is supposed to be so i need some guidance. ok... so.. both fans have two wires coming from them. they have all been cut right in front of the alternator (4 wires). i found a large flat plug next to the relay (which i have replaced) and it has two wires coming out of it that have been cut, a black wire and a black and red wire. there is also another black and red wire that goes off into the harness right there by the plug. also, on the both sides of the plug it looks like there were green wires that have been snipped off right at the plug so you could not add wire to it..

i realize this may be confusing.. but if someone has the same setup as me and could check where these wires go that would be great! ..and yes, i searched the forums and couldn't come up with anything.
