I am THE VERY most desperate person here now...

Ahh..OVERHEATING.Radiator,hoses,water pump,CONSTANT fan,FINE..Water check,full,circulating...ample coolant..NO COOLANT LOSS..He usually runs just before 220 NORMAL..All of a sudden,He is GREAT in town.............As soon as I start to head to 55 mph...He goes from 220 to R E D L I N E,in about 15 minutes or so...Drop to 40mph..He cools off again..220,is PERFECT for him.I have not had a heater/ac for many years..Also hoses were clamped off because of the foggy windshield in winter/rain..THAT is a bitch people..Its like rubbing vaseline off the inside of your windshield...ANYWAY..I could not afford to have the heater core fixed etc..WAY TOO MANY WIRES THEY SAID..I have never used any oil except CastrolNow he is spitting out two for every three...There is oil in the air filter...sometimes..He STILL will not start at times...Only when he wants too...The worst part, other than having to tighten my torque converter bolts on occasion..and tightening my shifter cable back in placeis that now my damn tranny is slipping...I am in a BAD BAD WAY YA'LL.Worst part of it all is....I am MADLY IN LOVE with HIM..Any advice?

Normal temp in city driving conditions and overheating on the highway- I've read that not having the air dam will cause these symptoms.

I thought all cars were girls, just doesn't sound right to me calling a car "he".
