How To Install Air Induction Dam?

Maybe it's a dumb question, but I was banking on my new air dam coming with installation instructions

My car never had an air dam on it when I bought it, and this new dam is three pieces, meaning I have two pieces that go someowhere that I don't know...

Attached is a picture of the three pieces. The big one on the bottom I got, it bolts right to the bottom of the radiator support and the new one came with hardware.

But the other two pieces go somewhere and I was wondering if someone could tell me where they went. And if possible, could someone show me a picture?

Thanks!

Re: How To Install Air Induction Dam?

Bottom one in the middle, directly under the radiator, the other 2 go off to each side (1 on each side), helping to catch even more air.

I've never figured out why some cars how those 3-piece ones, other cars only have the single middle piece. My GTA only has the 1 middle piece.

Re: How To Install Air Induction Dam?

if you jack the front of the car up and look at the underside, it will be easier to understand where they go.

does the car have the ground effects?

the large piece bolts to the bottom of the radiator support, like Stephen said, and the other pieces bolt to the rear of the side skirts. If you look at them, you will notice mounting tabs on the skirts where the pieces go. The parts you bought should have screws and metal retainers for the screws that clip onto the plastic skirts.

yeah it's a trans am and it has the plastic ground effects

could someone post a pic of the bottom of their bumper so i can see where the side dams are supposed to mount up?

are there supposed to be empty holes where the side dams should mount up?

You mounted a three-piece on a Camaro? If so, details, please.

Re: How To Install Air Induction Dam?

When i purchased the car the air dam extension was misssing which is the middle part of the whole assembly. I did not know it was missing until i read a few threads on here. I went to order the dam I have seen on here, and it did not appear from photos that it would work with my application, Went to GM and got a diagram of all front end parts. it appears there were a number of different parts used during 85 and 86 on the same car????Anywho I look at a 85 Firebird and it has the same as my Camaro, look at a 86 Camaro it had the single dam which attaches to the rad. support. I have photos on my work computer and can send if you would like.
