Help with single fan. can't get it to work

I have the main black, and black/red wires hooked up. Nothing. But there is a little connector on the passenger side of the radiator. I am not sure what wire goes there and if it needs to be on for my fan to work. Guessing its to tell the fan when to come on based on coolant temp.

How would I test to see if my fan is broken?

thanks

You only have one fan on that car? You could start by unplugging the fan connector at the fan itself. Find the proper terminals and apply power and ground to it straight from the battery. (Careful where you put your hands here)
